Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of related tower and construction experience.
  • Good communications skills, reading and writing (English).
  • Clean driving record and valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
  • Willing to travel out of town if required.
  • Working knowledge of basic hand tools and electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Experience with Anritsu Site Master, Andrew, PPC, towermapping and antenna equipment.
  • Experience stacking self-support towers, installing waveguide, antennas and microwave dishes.
  • RFA awareness, replacement and maintenance: coax, jumpers, TMA's, connectors, weatherproofing.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct a crew of 2–4 members on telecommunication sites.
  • Provide recommendations on hiring, firing and training of employees.
  • Plan and schedule work hours for assigned employees.
  • Coordinate materials, equipment and tools with supervision.
  • Read and interpret site plans and designs; build accordingly.
  • Ensure crew safety and compliance with company/customer safety requirements.
  • Maintain job records and closeout packages for installations.
  • Troubleshoot installs and communicate results to customers.

OVERVIEW:

The Tower foreman supervises and performs construction duties on a daily basis on telecommunication sites. Supervise subcontractors and job site personnel to complete the scope of work assigned. Must be able to follow instructions and complete assigned jobs timely and safely.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Leadanddirectacrewof2-4members.

  • Providessuggestionsandrecommendationsforemployeeadvancements,compensation,promotions,production,efficiency,orother statuschanges.
  • Fullunderstandingofajob orproject scopeofwork(SOW).
  • Full understanding of method of procedures (MOP) and practices to perform the assigned job/project. Abilitytowrite a detailedMOP.
  • Schedulesemployeeworkandworkhoursforassignedemployees.
  • Directsandplanstheworkofassignedemployees.
  • Determinesproperprojecttechniquesforassignedemployees.
  • Maintainsjobrecordsfor useinmanagingorcontrol.

  • Controlstheflowanddistributionofmaterialsandsupplies.
  • Plansandcontrolsthejobbudgets.
  • ManagesalldatainBetacomtools(SiteManager)and customertools.
  • Ensuressafetyandsecurity ofemployeesandcompanyassets.
  • Performs inspection of entire installs. Troubleshootsproblems with installs. Captures and provides closeoutpackages.
  • Participatesandassistsinhandlingemployeecomplaintsandgrievancesaccording tocompanypolicyandlawfully.
  • Participatesandassistsinhandlingemployeediscipline andprobationaccordingtocompanypolicyandlawfully.
  • Takes full responsibility for crew safety. Ensures crew members are in compliance with company and customer safety requirements. Inspects all tools and rigging gear to ensure they are safe to use.
  • Reportsanyworkers’comp injuriesorotherincidents.
  • Other closely related work may include physical tasks and menial tasks such as timesheet and otherrecordkeeping,completingJobSafetyAnalysis,adjusting equipmentandtools.
  • Knowsthehazardsassociatedwithtowerclimbing,constructionequipment,andworkingonornearenergizedlinesandequipment.
  • Certificationwithalltestequipment(Anritsusweepgear,PIMgear,fibertesting,etc.).
  • Experiencedwithcustomtowerriggingtechniques.
  • Experienced with all manners of troubleshootinge.g., RET’s, GPS antenna system, RF noise floor, TMA gain,towerlight systems,VSWR,microwave systems,etc.).
  • Proficient with the completion of closeout packages.

  • Sweeping test all lines and equipment, operating sweeptest software, reading results and sending tocustomers.
  • PIM testingall lines and equipment, operate PIM testsoftware,reading resultsand sending tocustomers.
  • Installing,commissioning,andtestingRETsystems.
  • Using ofGPSalignmenttools.
  • Installing,testing,pathaligningandtroubleshootMicrowavedishes.
  • Installing,testing,andtroubleshootingRRU/BBUequipmentontowers.
  • Otherdutiesrelatingtotelecommunicationtowerconstructionandmaintenance.
