Job summary

Betacom is seeking a Tower Foreman in Wasilla, AK to supervise and perform construction duties on telecommunication sites. You will lead crews, coordinate materials and equipment, ensure safety, and manage job-site records.

The role requires strong experience with tower maintenance, rigging, SOW/MOP understanding, and compliance with OSHA/First Aid, plus proficiency with site tools and reporting to the Superintendent.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Four years or more of related tower and construction experience and/or training.
• Good communication skills, reading and writing (English).
• Good computer skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook).
• Clean driving record and valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
• Must be able to accommodate out-of-town travel, if required.
• Working knowledge of basic hand tools, mechanical equipment, and electro-mechanical equipment.
• OSHA30, RFA awareness training, First Aid/CPR trained.
• Experience with Anritsu Site Master, Andrew PPC, towermapping and antenna equipment.
• Experience stacking self-support towers, installing waveguide, antennas, and microwave dishes.
• RFA awareness, replacement, and maintenance of coax, jumpers, TMA's, connectors, weatherproofing.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct a crew of 2-4 members.
• Provide suggestions and recommendations for hiring, firing, and training of employees.
• Provide recommendations for employee advancements, compensation, promotions, production, efficiency, or other status changes.
• Full understanding of a job or project scope of work (SOW).
• Full understanding of method of procedures (MOP) and practices to perform the assigned job/project. Write a detailed MOP.
• Schedule employee work and work hours for assigned employees.
• Direct and plan the work of assigned employees.
• Determine proper project techniques for assigned employees.

OVERVIEW:

The Tower foreman supervises and performs construction duties on a daily basis on telecommunication sites. Supervise subcontractors and job site personnel to complete the scope of work assigned. Must be able to follow instructions and complete assigned jobs timely and safely.

• Participatesandassistsinhandlingemployeecomplaintsandgrievancesaccording tocompanypolicyandlawfully.
• Participatesandassistsinhandlingemployeediscipline andprobationaccordingtocompanypolicyandlawfully.
• Takes full responsibility for crew safety. Ensures crew members are in compliance with company and customer safety requirements. Inspects all tools and rigging gear to ensure they are safe to use.
• Reportsanyworkers'comp injuriesorotherincidents.
• Other closely related work may include physical tasks and menial tasks such as timesheet and otherrecordkeeping,completingJobSafetyAnalysis,adjusting equipmentandtools.
• Knowsthehazardsassociatedwithtowerclimbing,constructionequipment,andworkingonornearenergizedlinesandequipment.
• Certificationwithalltestequipment(Anritsusweepgear,PIMgear,fibertesting,etc).
• Experiencedwithcustomtowerriggingtechniques.
• Experienced with all manners of troubleshootinge.g., RET's, GPS antenna system, RF noise floor, TMA gain,towerlight systems,VSWR,microwave systems,etc).
• Proficient with the completion of closeout packages.
