Job summary

Rutland Regional Medical Center is seeking a Manager of Compensation and Benefits to lead the Total Rewards function. This role guides compensation strategy, job architecture, market pricing, employee benefits, and retirement plans while ensuring compliance and financial stewardship.

The position collaborates with HR, Finance, Payroll, Legal, and labor relations to align programs with recruitment, retention, and organizational goals in a highly unionized environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
• 5-7 years of progressive Total Rewards experience with compensation and benefits.
• Experience with compensation philosophy, market pricing, salary structure design and internal equity analysis.
• Experience administering complex health and welfare benefit programs and employer-sponsored retirement plans.
• Experience with 403(b), 457, Section 125, ERISA-governed plans and Form 5500 filings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for RRMC’s compensation and employee benefits programs.
• Lead the team delivering total rewards programs across the organization.
• Ensure programs are competitive, equitable, financially sustainable, compliant, and aligned with RRMC’s Employer of Choice strategy.
• Partner with HR, Finance, Payroll, Legal, and departments to support recruitment, retention, and workforce strategy.
• Balance strategic design with hands-on administration and governance in a complex, unionized environment.
