Job summary

Carson Tahoe Health in Carson City, NV seeks a Total Rewards Director to lead the design, implementation, and administration of the hospital’s total rewards programs. Reporting to the VP of Human Resources, this role ensures competitive, compliant, and financially sustainable reward strategies aligned with the organization’s people strategy.

The Director partners with senior leadership, Finance, and HR to align programs with the hospital’s mission, market position, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, finance, or related field.
• 7+ years in compensation and benefits; 3+ years in leadership; healthcare preferred.
• Knowledge of compensation methodologies, market pricing, job evaluation systems, and benefits design.
• Familiar with employment laws: FLSA, ACA, ERISA, COBRA.
• Strong analytical, project management, and vendor management skills.
• Preferred certifications: CCP, CEBS, SHRM-SCP, or SPHR.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs (base pay, incentives, physician/provider).
• Direct design and management of employee benefits programs (health, retirement, voluntary).
• Perform market pricing, salary surveys, and pay equity analyses.
• Develop annual total rewards budget with VP/Finance and monitor costs against budget.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws (FLSA, ACA, ERISA, COBRA).
• Oversee HRIS total rewards functionality and data integrity.
