Job summary

Ocean State Job Lot (OSJL) in Rhode Island is seeking a Director of Total Rewards to lead Benefits, Claims and Compensation teams. You will shape benefit design, governance, and cost controls while partnering with HR and leadership to optimize total rewards strategy.

The role requires extensive experience in benefits administration, compensation design, and compliance, with a focus on legal risk management and vendor relations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, business administration, or related field.
• 10+ years in benefits administration and HR operations; retail experience preferred.
• 5+ years supervisory experience.
• Experience with project management, vendor management, and process improvement.
• Expertise in leave of absence and workers’ compensation compliance.
• Experience with self-insured benefit plans.
• Proficient with MS Excel; knowledge of Google Workspace and HCM software preferred.

Responsibilities

• LeadBenefits, Claims, and Compensation teams to deliver effective programs.
• Oversee benefits design, benchmarking, and cost management for store and corporate populations.
• Govern compensation strategies, Pay-for-Performance, and minimum wage auditing.
• Manage workers’ compensation, general liability, and safety program oversight.
• Develop vendor relationships and ensure contract compliance.
• Analyze benefits data and present to company leadership.
