Job Title: Total Productive Maintenance Supervisor Company: Aisin Texas Corporation Department: Maintenance, Preventative Maintenance Location: Cibolo, TX

Position Summary

The Total Productive Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing TPM activities across multiple teams or production areas to support equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement. This position provides leadership, technical guidance, and direction to TPM Team Leaders, Team Members, and maintenance personnel while driving consistent TPM practices throughout assigned manufacturing operations.

The Total Productive Maintenance Supervisor monitors equipment performance, develops and implements improvement strategies, and works cross-functionally with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, and other departments to reduce equipment downtime and improve manufacturing performance. This position also supports Team Member development, resource planning, safety and quality compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Position Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee the implementation and execution of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities across assigned teams, departments, or production areas.
  • Supervise, support, and provide direction to TPM Team Leaders, Team Members, and maintenance personnel.
  • Develop and execute TPM strategies designed to improve equipment reliability, availability, and overall manufacturing performance.
  • Monitor and improve key equipment performance indicators, including Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), equipment downtime, Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
  • Analyze equipment, maintenance, and process data to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead root cause analysis activities and support the development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities, including kaizen, 5S, and other improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure autonomous maintenance and planned maintenance practices are standardized and consistently executed across assigned areas.
  • Conduct audits and monitor compliance with established TPM standards, procedures, and work practices.
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, and other departments to resolve equipment and process concerns and support manufacturing objectives.
  • Coordinate resource planning, work schedules, and workforce allocation to effectively support TPM activities and operational priorities.
  • Provide coaching, training, feedback, and performance evaluations to Team Leaders and assigned staff.
  • Identify training and development needs and support the continued development of TPM personnel.
  • Ensure TPM activities are conducted in accordance with applicable safety, quality, and environmental policies, procedures, and requirements.
  • Prepare TPM performance reports and communicate results, trends, concerns, and improvement activities to management and senior leadership.
  • Support the achievement of departmental and organizational goals related to equipment performance, productivity, quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties, projects, and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Required Skills and Abilities

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Two (2) to four (4) years of experience in manufacturing, maintenance, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), or a related environment.
  • Two (2) to four (4) years of leadership experience in a supervisory, Group Leader, Team Leader, or management capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to coach, develop, and provide direction to Team Leaders and Team Members.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and root cause analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of equipment reliability and maintenance systems.
  • Ability to understand, analyze, and act upon equipment and manufacturing performance metrics, including OEE, downtime, MTBF, and MTTR.
  • Ability to analyze equipment and process data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to coordinate resources, schedules, and multiple operational priorities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong coaching and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, and other cross-functional departments.
  • Proficiency with data analysis, reporting, and standard business computer applications.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and respond to changing production and equipment priorities.
Beneficial Skills and Experience
  • Experience implementing or leading Total Productive Maintenance programs in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience supporting equipment reliability or maintenance improvement activities preferred.
  • Experience leading kaizen, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, or other continuous improvement initiatives preferred.
  • Experience working within an automotive manufacturing environment preferred.
Education/Training/Certifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field preferred.
  • TPM, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or related continuous improvement certification preferred.
