Qualifications

• 5 yrs experience in Auto Insurance in California.
• Able to learn and understand insurance industry practices.
• Pass a background check.
• Related insurance industry experience is a plus.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and web-based systems; 35+ wpm.
• Strong organizational, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Answer questions from customers about claim handling and coverage.
• Resolve total loss claims for carrier and owner retained salvage.
• Determine accurate total loss valuations using various resources.
• Provide service to insured parties, third-party claimants, and lienholders.
• Explain the total loss process and vehicle value to customers.
• Negotiate total loss settlements with customers.
• Comply with DMV laws and carrier criteria for total loss settlements.
• Coordinate salvage by moving vehicles to storage or salvage vendors quickly.
• Review and process DMV forms and company documents.
• Follow state and federal laws and company policies.
• Maintain regular attendance.
• Assist claims department with special projects.
• Other duties as assigned.
