Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Torpedo Test Equipment Software Developer in Middletown, RI to modernize Naval Automated Test Equipment (ATE) for MK48 torpedoes. You will work with in-office engineers and engage in design, development, and testing of ATE software.

You will read and convert legacy PASCAL routines to C++, LabVIEW, and TestStand, ensuring robust testing and validation of software for several ATE systems. This role requires strong multi-tasking and self-motivation.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 5 years of experience.
• Experience designing software solutions for automated test equipment (ATE).
• Strong working knowledge of electrical test and measurement concepts.
• Familiarity with National Instruments PXI, LabVIEW, and TestStand.
• Familiarity with PASCAL.

Responsibilities

• Read, translate, and reverse-engineer legacy PASCAL software into modern languages.
• Analyze documentation to understand legacy systems for modernization.
• Become a subject matter expert on software for multiple ATE systems.
• Support design and sustainment of ATE software with peers.
• Demonstrate success managing multiple concurrent tasks and overcoming technical hurdles.
