Job summary

Woolpert is hiring a Topographic Aerial Sensor Operator to join our Dayton Aerial Acquisitions team. You will support sensor operation and data reporting for airborne mapping missions, under the Geospatial Team Leader, with responsibilities in flight planning, data quality checks, and field troubleshooting.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED (GIS or Geography degree preferred), US work authorization, and willingness to travel on a rotating schedule (21 days on / 14 off; domestic and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; GIS/geography degree preferred.
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally on a rotating schedule.
• Preferred knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS, Leica FlightPro, TerraSolid, and related systems.
• Experience with Leica Terrain Mapper, ADS 100, and DMC is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participate in ground and flight operations, including mission planning, execution, briefing, debriefing, communications, and safety.
• Ensure proper data collection for accuracy and quality of airborne mapping missions.
• Understand collection of tactical and wide area mapping data.
• Comply with governing regulations and established procedures in field operations.
• Download, edit, and troubleshoot sensor data; set up ground GPS base stations and flight planning.
