Job summary

Woolpert in Dayton seeks a Topographic Aerial Sensor Operator to support our Aerial Acquisitions team, reporting to the Geospatial Team Leader. You will operate sensors during airborne mapping missions and ensure data quality.

Travel is required on a rotating schedule; domestically and internationally. Visa sponsorship is not available, and applicants must have work authorization in the U.S. The role emphasizes data integrity, field troubleshooting, and collaboration with a cross-functional team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and/or GED or two years of related experience; GIS/geography degree preferred.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• Preferred knowledge of ESRI software, ArcGIS, Leica FlightPro, TerraSolid.
• Preferred experience operating Leica Terrain Mapper, ADS 100, and DMC.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills; strong verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; adapt to changes.

Responsibilities

• Participate in ground and flight operations planning and execution, briefing, debriefing, and safety.
• Ensure data collection for accuracy and quality during airborne mapping missions.
• Understand tactical and wide area data collection.
• Comply with regulations and operating procedures.
• Download, edit and troubleshoot sensor data; set up ground GPS base stations and flight planning.
