Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a seasoned software engineer to tackle challenging national defense problems from our Hanover, MD site. You will work on next-generation analytics, distributed systems, and intelligent software solutions across data storage, security, AI, NLP, and UI design.

The role demands leadership, versatility, and a proactive approach to solving complex problems in a fast-paced, security-cleared environment.

Qualifications

• Seven (7) years experience as a software engineer is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• Experience with Java, C#, C++, JavaScript, Python, Scala, Ruby and Go.
• Experience with IDEs such as Eclipse, NetBeans, IntelliJ IDEA, PyCharm, Visual Studio and VS Code.
• Experience with Windows, Unix, Linux and macOS.
• Experience with Atlassian Suite (JIRA, Confluence), GitHub and ServiceNow.
• Experience with Spring, Angular and Bootstrap.
• Experience with Oracle, MySQL and MongoDB.
• Experience with Maven and Jenkins.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Git, SVN and CVS.
• Experience with AWS, Azure and Google Cloud.

Responsibilities

• Develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements.
• Works individually or as part of a team.
• Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results.
• Resolves software problem reports.
• Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.
• Provides input to system design including hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, and use of COTS/GOTS in place of new development, and synthesis from system level to individual software components.
