Job summary

SMX is seeking a Network Administrator to join our team at Patuxent River, MD. The role supports DoD networks on site and requires US citizenship with a Top Secret clearance.

You will work with a skilled team delivering secure, high-availability network solutions across the NAVAIR community. Responsibilities include configuring network devices, troubleshooting, and enforcing STIG standards, while coordinating with management and customer points of contact to ensure reliable operations and timely

Qualifications

• Must hold DoD Top Secret clearance; US citizenship required.
• IAT Level 2 or higher certification (e.g., CCNA Security, CySA+, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP).
• Minimum 3 years' experience configuring and supporting network devices.
• Minimum 3 years' experience with IP networking design.
• Minimum 3 years' experience with virtual server environments.
• Knowledge of DoD STIG/IA practices and vulnerability remediation.
• Ability to interact with peers and management in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and administer all network devices and deploy new technologies.
• Troubleshoot LAN/WAN and application-level connectivity and performance.
• Maintain network boundary security and participate in security investigations.
• Perform STIG reviews and updates on assigned devices.
• Remediate vulnerabilities and document processes and desk guides.
• Collaborate with customer POCs and management; support high-availability networks.
