Job summary

SMX is seeking a Network Administrator to support NAVAIR at Patuxent River, MD. The role focuses on enterprise network infrastructure, boundary services, cybersecurity compliance, and modernization within a large DoD environment.

The position entails approximately 2–3 days onsite per week. You will work with Cisco, F5 BIG-IP, PKI enablement, STIGs, and cross-functional teams across Windows, Unix/Linux, and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in enterprise network support within DoD environments.
• Experience with Cisco devices and IP networking.
• Familiarity with STIGs and DoD cybersecurity practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and clear communication.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot LAN, WAN, and application connectivity and performance.
• Configure and maintain Cisco switches/routers and other network gear.
• Manage F5 BIG-IP devices and load balancing services.
• Deploy network devices per approved engineering designs.
• Support boundary security infrastructure and PKI enablement.
• Collaborate with Windows, Unix/Linux, cloud, and data-center teams.
• Participate in on-call rotations and maintenance windows.
