Job summary

TekPro Support Services, LLC (TSS) seeks a Secondary Screener to support mail and package screening at the Cheverly Logistics Center, MD. This hands-on role covers screening, inspection, package accountability, documentation, and chain-of-custody in line with approved procedures.

The role reports to the Technical Lead – Mail & Secondary Screening/CLC Supervisor and requires TS clearance, strong attention to detail, and ability to operate screening equipment after training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow detailed SOPs and work instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
• Ability to recognize abnormal package conditions and escalate concerns.
• Ability to use computers, handheld scanners, and electronic tracking systems.
• Ability to follow technical instructions and work in a structured environment.
• Ability to communicate clearly with teammates and Government personnel.
• Ability to maintain Top Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform secondary screening of mail and packages per procedures.
• Conduct exterior visual inspections before processing.
• Operate screening equipment after training and qualification.
• Maintain separation of unscreened and held or controlled materials.
• Verify package identity, tracking, recipient, destination and condition.
• Maintain package accountability and custody records throughout processing.
• Document holds, damaged or missing packages and exceptions.
• Follow procedures for restricted or specially controlled materials.
• Participate in training and qualification activities.
• Perform screening activities including X-ray and RF/RFID screening.
