Job summary

TekPro Support Services, LLC (TSS) seeks a meticulous Secondary Screener to support mail and package screening at the Cheverly Logistics Center in Maryland. You will perform secondary screening, visual inspections, and ensure chain-of-custody with careful documentation.

This hands-on role requires adhering to procedures, maintaining accurate records, and coordinating with the Technical Lead – Mail & Secondary Screening/CLC Supervisor. TS clearance is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires high attention to detail and ability to read, understand, and follow SOPs/work instructions.
• Strong focus on accurate package and custody records.
• Ability to recognize abnormal package conditions and escalate concerns.
• Proficient with computers, handheld scanners, and electronic tracking systems.
• Capable of following technical instructions and equipment operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform secondary screening of mail and packages following approved procedures.
• Conduct exterior visual inspections prior to processing.
• Operate screening equipment after training and qualification.
• Maintain separation of unscreened, screened, held, and suspicious items.
• Verify package identity, tracking information, recipient, destination, and condition.
• Maintain package accountability throughout screening and processing.
• Complete Pitney Bowes SendPro transactions and custody actions.
• Apply inspection labels after screening.
• Reassemble and reseal inspected packages as needed.
• Transfer screened packages to authorized custody points.
• Maintain a clean, organized screening workspace and PPE compliance.
• Report equipment alarms or abnormal conditions immediately.
• Assist with custody verification and package-count reconciliation.
• Document holds, damaged, or missing packages and other exceptions.
