Job summary

Interstate Waste Services is seeking a skilled equipment operator to join our team in a demanding outdoor environment. The role involves operating a Top Pick/Container Lifter, maneuvering large containers, and ensuring safe, efficient transfer station operations.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of experience with similar machinery and are comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Prior sanitation-industry exposure is a plus and adherence to safety policies is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and eligible to work in the United States.
• Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds.
• Minimum 2 years' experience operating Top Pick/Container Lifter/Reacher-Stacker.
• Experience from the sanitation industry preferred.
• Able to work outdoors in variable weather, temperatures, chemicals, dust, fumes, smells and loud noises.

Responsibilities

• Operate Top Pick and related equipment at transfer stations.
• Move containers and load to rail cars.
• Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
• Communicate with drivers and staff via hand held radios and CBs.
• Routinely set up and inspect equipment prior to operation.
• Maintain an efficient flow to reduce traffic congestion.
