Job summary

Commercial Steel Erection, Inc. in Richmond, VA is seeking a Tool Room Attendant to manage hand tools, dies, and equipment for the Purchasing department. You will issue, track, and inventory tools, ensure proper storage, and support job sites with timely tool delivery.

The role requires attention to detail and the ability to read and interpret safety instructions, with no supervisory duties. Must be able to travel if needed and maintain a valid driving record.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Issues tools and equipment to workers and maintains records of tools and equipment issued and returned.
• Locates lost or misplaced tools and equipment.
• Prepares periodic inventory or maintains perpetual inventory of tools and equipment.
• Receives, unpacks, and stores incoming tools and equipment, and requisitions stock to replenish inventory.
• Inspects and measures tools and equipment for defects and wear and reports damage or wear to supervisors.
• Repairs, services, and lubricates tools and equipment.
• Delivers tools or equipment to workers.
• Marks and identifies tools and equipment.
• Keep yard and shop clean and in order.
• Unload deliveries, inspect for defects and document as needed.
• Label and track all storage items.
