Job summary

Westfall Technik is seeking an experienced Toolmaker for our Asheboro, NC site. The role focuses on maintaining and repairing self-contained molds and tooling systems to ensure production readiness and quality.

Candidates will disassemble, inspect, and reassemble complex tools and contribute to design improvements. The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of Tool Maker experience in plastic injection environments, strong mold knowledge, and ability to read engineering drawings, with proficiency in

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational certification in Tool & Die, Mold Making, or Machining preferred.
5–7 years of experience as a Tool Maker in high-volume plastic injection molding environments.
Strong knowledge of mold construction and preventative maintenance practices.
Proficient reading of complex engineering drawings and blueprints.

Responsibilities

Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance, repairs, cleaning, and configurations of molds and tooling systems.
Disassemble, inspect, and reassemble mold tools for production readiness.
Utilize mills, lathes, surface grinders, EDMs, and welding machines for tooling components.
Troubleshoot mold-related production issues and document actions.
Train junior toolmakers and participate in 5S/lean manufacturing initiatives.
