Job summary

Magna Powertrain in Michigan is seeking an engineer to design, develop and launch tooling for stamping, injection molding, machining and assembly. You will evaluate tooling performance and lead procurement, validation and production startup activities.

A Bachelor's degree in engineering with 3–5 years related experience is required. Proficiency with GD&T, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential.

  • Experience creating Manufacturing Process Prints; familiarity with CNC lathes and mills.
  • Proficient with GD&T; strong communication and organization.
  • Self-starter; able to work in a fast-paced environment and drive improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and launch tooling for stamping, injection molding, machining, assembly operations.
  • Evaluate tooling performance, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Lead tooling procurement, installation, validation, and production startup activities.
  • Develop process parameters, work instructions, and SOPs.
  • Analyze production issues and implement corrective actions to improve quality and safety.
  • Coordinate engineering changes and tooling modifications.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for tooling, process, and quality concerns.
  • Support new product launches through process development and tooling readiness.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure tooling meets specifications.
  • Monitor key process metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
