Job summary

Magna International’s Cosma Group in Bowling Green, KY seeks a Tooling Engineer to lead design and development of stamping tooling for automotive programs. You will drive tooling specifications, coordinate production readiness, and manage supplier interactions to ensure quality and on-time launches.

The role requires strong CAD skills, GD&T expertise, and a track record in tooling for automotive stamping. Occasional travel and cross-functional collaboration are essential components of the

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) or equivalent certification or 10 years’ experience in the role.
• Journeyman card in tool and die preferred.
• 7+ years of automotive process and stamping tooling experience.
• 5+ years liaising with outside vendors preferred.
• 7+ years in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate tool design activities to support production tooling.
• Determine efficient manufacturing processes while controlling costs.
• Prepare tooling specifications for programs and products.
• Coordinate tuning of tooling for fit and function.
• Manage tooling orders, quotes, and data records.
• Develop tooling timing plans for launches and changes.
• Collaborate with suppliers to resolve issues and improve quality.
• Lead or participate in APQP activities for pre-production and mass production.
• Travel up to 50% as required.
