Job summary

Daimler Truck North America is seeking an experienced Tooling Engineer to drive continuous improvement in tooling strategies, enhance equipment efficiency, and ensure manufacturing performance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, apply Lean methods, and act as SME for tooling and machining processes.

You will utilize knowledge of CNC machining, GD&T and tooling design to solve complex problems, lead root cause analyses, and implement durable process changes that improve quality and

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
• 5-7 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of Lean/Continuous improvement tools and principles, including problem solving activities.
• Extensive tool background including drills, reamers, taps and mills.
• Mechanical Machining aptitude to diagnose issues with CNC machining equipment.
• Experienced with GD&T, CMM Reports and process sheets.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to translate information.
• Proficient computer skills and MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and practical problem-solving methodologies.
• Partner with production teams and engineering to enhance operational performance.
• Provide technical guidance on tooling design, processes, and production requirements.
• Establish efficient production methods and tooling layouts to optimize manufacturing performance.
• Conduct process testing, validation, and root cause analysis to ensure quality.
