Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) is hiring a Central Tool Processing Tooling Engineer for the Detroit area. The role focuses on tooling strategies that improve quality and reduce waste, serving as a subject matter expert for the tooling suite in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
• 5-7 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of Lean/Continuous improvement tools and principles.
• Extensive tooling background incl. drills, reamers, taps and mills.
• Mechanical machining aptitude for CNC equipment.
• Experienced with GD&T, CMM reports and process sheets.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality powertrain tooling and manufacturing excellence.
• Support collaboration, efficiency, and productivity within machine shop and CTP operations.
• Develop expertise in tooling engineering, CNC and conventional machining processes and equipment operations.
• Select, measure, and prepare materials to engineering specs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production, tooling, equipment, and process issues.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean principles and problem-solving.
