Job summary

Saab West Lafayette is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician for the 3rd shift to ensure tool availability and drive tooling improvements on the production floor. You will serve as a bridge between tooling engineering and manufacturing, auditing tools, supporting studies, and resolving issues while upholding Saab's values.

The role emphasizes tooling performance testing, CAD/Excel reporting, and the ability to work independently or with a team in a dynamic aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in STEM or 2+ years comparable work experience.
• 2+ years technical/assembly experience in aircraft manufacturing is a plus.
• Tooling selection and application experience in manufacturing.
• Basic tooling design and performance testing experience.
• Ability to operate machining and measurement equipment.
• Strong organizational skills and GD&T knowledge.
• Familiarity with aerospace quality regulations is a plus.
• Proficiency with Excel and CAD software is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Audit and maintain proper tools within each assembly area.
• Provide support for tooling studies and application.
• Conduct performance testing for tooling and provide analysis reports.
• Investigate and resolve tooling issues.
• Propose new tooling solutions and assist installation of new tooling projects.
• Contribute to Saab's people-first culture and core values.
• Assist assemblers with proper and safe use of tools.
• Ensure tooling compliance to Aerospace standards.
• Work extended hours and weekends when required.
