Job summary

Saab West Lafayette is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician for our 3rd shift to ensure tooling readiness and drive tooling improvements in support of aircraft production. You will liaison between tooling engineers and production to maintain tool inventories, support studies, and resolve tooling issues with a safety-first mindset.

The role requires practical experience with tooling design, GD&T, and CAD tools, plus the ability to work independently or with a team.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in STEM or 2+ years related experience required.
• Proficiency with tooling selection and application in manufacturing.
• Experience with tooling performance testing and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Audit and maintain proper tools within each assembly area.
• Provide support for tooling studies and application.
• Conduct performance testing for tooling and provide analysis reports.
• Investigate and resolve tooling issues.
• Propose new tooling solutions and contribute to tooling capital projects.
• Assist assemblers with proper and safe use of tools.
• Ensure tooling compliance to Aerospace standards.
• Operate with Saab values and collaborate across teams.
• Work extended hours and weekend overtime when required.
