Job summary

Saab West Lafayette is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician for the 3rd shift to ensure tooling readiness and drive tooling improvements on the production line for the T-7A Redhawk program. You will act as a bridge between tooling engineers and the shop floor, auditing tools, testing performance, and supporting new tooling installations while maintaining aerospace compliance.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in STEM or 2+ years of comparable work experience.
• 2+ years of technical/assembly in aircraft manufacturing is a plus.
• Tooling selection and application experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Basic tooling design knowledge.
• Troubleshooting tooling issues and providing countermeasures.
• Tooling performance testing and reporting.
• Ability to operate machining and measurement equipment.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Understanding aerospace quality regulations and standards a plus.
• Proficiency with Excel for reporting.
• CAD software experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Audit and maintain proper tools within each assembly area.
• Provide support for tooling studies and application.
• Conduct performance testing for tooling and provide analysis reports.
• Investigate and resolve tooling issues.
• Propose tooling solutions and assist installation of tooling upgrades.
• Support a people-first culture aligned with company values.
• Assist assemblers with proper and safe use of tools.
• Ensure tooling compliance to aerospace standards.
• Collaborate between tooling engineer and production team.
• Work extended hours and weekends when required.
