Job summary

Saab West Lafayette, IN is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician for the 3rd shift to support tooling and manufacturing technology in the production of the T-7A Redhawk rear section.

The role focuses on maintaining tooling, performing performance tests, analyzing tooling issues, and collaborating with tooling engineers and production teams; candidates with STEM education or equivalent experience and knowledge of GD&T, CAD, and Excel reporting are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in STEM discipline OR 2+ years comparable work experience required.
• 2+ years of technical/assembly in aircraft manufacturing is a plus.
• Tooling selection/application experience in manufacturing settings.
• Basic tooling design experience.
• Troubleshooting tooling issues and providing countermeasures.
• Tooling performance testing and reporting.
• Ability to operate machining and measurement equipment.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Understanding aerospace quality regulations and standards is a plus.
• Proficiency with GD&T is required.

Responsibilities

• Audit and maintain proper tools within each assembly area.
• Provide support for tooling studies and application.
• Conduct performance testing for tooling and provide technical analysis reports.
• Investigate and resolve tooling issues.
• Propose new tooling solutions/designs and support capital projects.
• Support a people-first culture aligned with Trust, Drive, Expertise, and Support.
• Assist assemblers with proper and safe use of tools.
• Ensure tooling compliance to aerospace standards.
• Work extended hours and weekend overtime when required.
