Job summary

Saab West Lafayette is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician on 3rd shift to support tooling and manufacturing technology in the production of T-7A Redhawk components.

You will audit tools, support tooling studies, conduct performance testing, and resolve tooling issues while contributing to Saab's people-first culture and safety standards. A STEM degree or equivalent experience is required.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in STEM or 2+ years of comparable work experience is required.
• 2+ years of technical/assembly in aircraft manufacturing is a plus.
• Tooling selection and application experience in manufacturing settings.
• Basic tooling design capabilities.
• Troubleshooting tooling issues and providing countermeasures.
• Tooling performance testing and reporting.
• Ability to operate machining and measurement equipment.
• Strong organizational skills and aerospace quality awareness.
• GD&T understanding and proficiency with Excel reporting.
• CAD software experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Audit and maintain proper tools within each assembly area.
• Provide support for tooling studies and application.
• Conduct performance testing for tooling and provide technical reports.
• Investigate and resolve tooling issues.
• Propose new tooling solutions and assist installation of tooling projects.
• Support a people-first culture aligned with Saab values.
• Assist assemblers with proper and safe tool use.
• Ensure tooling compliance to aerospace standards.
