Job summary

Saab West Lafayette, IN is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician for the 3rd shift to support tooling and manufacturing technology in the production of rear sections for the T-7A Redhawk. You will audit tools, support tooling studies, perform performance tests, resolve tooling issues, and help install new tooling capital projects, partnering with the tooling engineer and production team.

This role requires an Associate Degree in STEM or 2+ years aircraft manufacturing experience,

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in STEM or 2+ years of comparable work experience is required.
• 2+ years of technical/assembly in aircraft manufacturing is a plus.
• Tooling selection/application experience in manufacturing setting is preferred.
• Basic tooling design and troubleshooting tooling issues are expected.
• Ability to operate machining and measurement equipment.
• Competent in GD&T and aerospace quality regulations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Audit and maintain proper tools within each assembly area.
• Provide support for tooling studies and application.
• Conduct performance testing for tooling and provide technical analysis reports.
• Investigate and resolve tooling issues.
• Propose new tooling solutions and contribute to new tooling capital projects.
• Assist assemblers with proper and safe use of tools.
• Champion Saab values and adhere to safety and quality standards.
