Job summary

Saab West Lafayette is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician on the 3rd shift to ensure tooling is stocked, maintained, and improved to support assembling the rear sections of the T-7A Redhawk aircraft. You will bridge tooling engineering and production, drive tooling studies, and help implement capital tooling projects.

Ideal candidates have an Associate Degree in STEM or 2+ years of relevant aircraft tooling experience, plus skills in GD&T, CAD, Excel, and tooling performance testing.

Qualifications

• Associate-degree in STEM or 2+ years of comparable work experience required.
• 2+ years of technical/assembly in aircraft manufacturing is a plus.
• Tooling selection/application experience in manufacturing settings.
• Basic tooling design and troubleshooting with countermeasures.
• Tooling performance testing and reporting.
• Ability to operate machining and measurement equipment.
• Strong organizational skills and aerospace quality awareness.
• GD&T understanding and CAD familiarity are pluses.

Responsibilities

• Audit and maintain proper tools within each assembly area.
• Support tooling studies and applications.
• Conduct tooling performance testing and provide analysis reports.
• Investigate and resolve tooling issues.
• Propose new tooling designs and capital projects.
• Assist assemblers with safe use of tools.
• Ensure tooling compliance with aerospace standards.
