Job summary

Saab West Lafayette in Indiana is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician for the 3rd shift to support tooling and manufacturing technology on the T-7A Redhawk program. The role connects tooling engineering with production to ensure efficient tooling and compliance.

Qualified candidates typically hold an Associate Degree in STEM or 2+ years of related experience in aircraft manufacturing, tooling selection, and basic tooling design.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in STEM or equivalent required
• 2+ years in aircraft manufacturing or tooling-related work preferred
• Tooling selection and application experience in manufacturing
• Basic tooling design and testing knowledge
• Ability to operate machining/measurement equipment and use CAD tools
• Strong organization and reporting skills
• Familiarity with aerospace quality regulations is a plus
• Proficiency with Excel and data reporting

Responsibilities

• Audit and maintain tooling in each assembly area
• Support tooling studies and applications
• Conduct performance testing for tooling and provide analysis reports
• Investigate and resolve tooling issues
• Propose tooling solutions and contribute to capital projects
• Assist assemblers with safe use of tools
• Ensure tooling compliance to aerospace standards
• Collaborate with tooling engineer and production teams
