Job summary

Saab is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician in West Lafayette, IN for the 3rd shift to support tooling and manufacturing technology in building the T-7A Redhawk rear section. The role links tooling engineering with production to drive tooling improvements and compliance.

Responsibilities include auditing tools, supporting tooling studies, conducting performance testing, resolving tooling issues, and contributing to installations of tooling capital projects.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 2+ years related work experience.
• Experience with tooling in aircraft manufacturing is a plus.
• Solid understanding of GD&T and tooling performance testing.

Responsibilities

• Audit and maintain proper tools within each assembly area.
• Provide support for tooling studies and application.
• Conduct tooling performance testing and report results.
• Investigate and resolve tooling issues.
• Recommend new tooling solutions and support capital projects.
• Assist assemblers with proper and safe tool use.
• Ensure tooling compliance to aerospace standards.
