Job summary

The Boeing Company in North Charleston, South Carolina, seeks an Equipment and Tooling Engineering Manager to join the 787 Production Engineering team. This role leads tooling engineers for mechanical and automated tooling used in composite fabrication and assembly, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery and continuous improvement.

Ideal candidates have a BS in engineering, 5+ years in manufacturing, and proven leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills within a demanding aerospace

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or equivalent.
• Candidates must have at least one year of leadership experience OR have completed Boeing's Exploring Leadership training.
• 5+ years of manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage Tool Engineering Team to support production on the 787.
• Lead team supporting mechanical and automated tooling for aircraft fabrication and assembly.
• Implement high-priority improvement and safety projects on schedule and within budget.
• Support production on tooling issues including usage instructions, repair and troubleshooting.
• Manage resources to maintain production support to prevent work stoppages or delays.
• Acquire resources, manage suppliers, and lead process and safety improvements.
• Develop and maintain relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and direct reports.
