Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Engineer, Energetics Manufacturing (Level 2 or 3) to support tooling and equipment for aerospace applications in Promontory, UT. This role covers concept, design, drawings, inspection, procurement, verification, and fabrication support for tooling and equipment.

The position requires collaboration with review teams, vendors, and internal customers to ensure quality, on-time delivery, and cost objectives, with travel up to 10% and relocation assistance potentially

Qualifications

• BS in a STEM discipline plus 2 years of technical/engineering experience; or MS in STEM with 0 years.
• BS in a STEM discipline plus 5 years of technical/engineering experience; or MS in STEM with 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Interface with review team to assure customer satisfaction with design.
• Manage projects and coordinate all procurements and fabrication to meet program cost and schedule requirements.
• Inspect fabricated support hardware to assure compliance to design.
• Work with manufacturing team to ensure program quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
• Collaborate with internal customers to conceptualize needed support equipment for new and existing programs.
• Develop tooling concepts and review/improve manufacturing processes to meet requirements.
• Work with tool designers to create final drawings.
• Perform stress analysis to ensure mechanical soundness per NG requirements.
• Monitor cost and schedule.
• Review drawings and designs for manufacturability.
• Support vendors during fabrication as needed.
• Inspect tool configuration for drawing compliance (form, fit, function).
• Support continuous improvement.
• Assist operations and process engineering in use of tooling.
