Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree completed or in progress in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Master’s Degree for Engineer 2 is preferred.
• U.S. Government security clearance possible; U.S. citizenship required.
• Experience or coursework in CAD and Modeling.

Responsibilities

• Engineering and design of a wide range of production tooling components for energetic aerospace propulsion systems including molds, lifting devices, handling fixtures, test fixtures, etc.
• Coordinates and develops tooling requirements with project engineering, process engineering, manufacturing, quality, etc.
• Responsible for coordinating tooling with program teams, including the establishment of tooling scope and monitoring projects against planned scope.
• Responsible for the tool lifecycle for assigned programs
• Conduct tool-design reviews with cross-functional teams to ensure HOPS safety adherence, first-time quality, yield, and effectiveness.
• Prepare estimates of tooling design and fabrication costs for proposals.
• Identifies opportunities for improvements to existing designs
