Job summary

IDEX seeks a Tooling Designer to design, develop, and maintain high-volume progressive stamping dies for punch press and clamp machines. You will collaborate with New Product Development to create prototype dies and support tooling with manufacturing and quality teams.

The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and continuous improvement, with cross-functional teamwork across engineering, operations, and suppliers. Strong CAD skills and experience with machining and tooling are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with advanced technical training or Tool & Die journeyman.
• 5+ years of progressive die manufacturing experience including repair/troubleshooting.
• 2+ years of SolidWorks experience; CAD modeling and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Design progressive dies for high-volume production meeting safety, quality, and cost targets.
• Improve existing tooling to enhance throughput, reduce downtime and scrap.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality and suppliers to implement tooling solutions.
