Job summary

IDEX is seeking a Tooling Designer to design, develop, and maintain precision progressive stamping dies for punch press and clamp machines. You will collaborate with engineering, quality, operators, toolmakers, and external partners to optimize tooling performance and drive continuous improvement.

The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and manufacturability, with opportunities to contribute to prototype dies and new product design within a cross-functional team.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive die manufacturing experience including repair and troubleshooting.
  • 2+ years of SolidWorks experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting stamping dies in manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Progressive die designs that achieve safety, quality, productivity, and cost objectives.
  • Support high-volume manufacturing requirements while maximizing die life, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Drive continuous improvement of tooling to reduce downtime, scrap, and improve OEE.
  • Establish tooling standards that promote consistency and repeatability across operations.
  • Develop tooling documentation, models, drawings, and specifications.
