Job summary

IDEX is seeking an experienced Tool and Die Supervisor to lead the tool and die department at BAND-IT. The role covers supervision, technical direction, training, and mentorship for tooling teams in stamping and forming processes.

Reporting to the Sr. Production Manager, you will coordinate with production, quality, and engineering to ensure die readiness, implement improvements, and guide projects from concept to on-time completion.

Qualifications

• Leadership of die making and CNC machining operations.
• Hands on expertise using machine tools: lathe, mill, surface grinder, machining centers, wire and sinker EDM.
• Knowledge of and experience with various tool steels and carbide materials.
• Expertise in construction and maintenance of progressive stamping dies.
• 3D CAD expertise (SOLIDWORKS Preferred).
• General computer skills including MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Oversee tool and die production, maintenance, and repair.
• Supervise setup and operation of lathes, grinders, milling, and boring machines.
• Schedule and assign tasks within the tool and die department.
• May perform machining tasks as a working leader of the tool and die team.
• Lead tooling development and improvements; ensure on-time completion.
• Mentor and train growing employees; share best practices.
• Coordinate with production, quality, and engineering to support new product development.
• Ensure die readiness with contingency plans; calibrate and maintain tooling.
