Job summary

IDEX is seeking a Tooling Designer to design, develop and maintain high-volume progressive stamping dies for punch press and clamp machines. You will collaborate with New Product Development and cross-functional teams to prototype dies, improve tooling, and ensure safety, quality, and reliability in manufacturing.

Responsibilities include driving continuous improvement, establishing tooling standards, and delivering manufacturable tooling solutions that meet production objectives and cost

Qualifications

• Experience designing and maintaining high-volume progressive stamping dies.

Responsibilities

• Design progressive dies that meet safety, quality, productivity, and cost targets.
• Ensure tooling supports high-volume production with long die life and maintainability.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce downtime, scrap, and boost OEE.
• Establish tooling standards and documentation across manufacturing operations.
• Provide root-cause analysis and corrective actions for tooling-related issues.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Tool & Die and suppliers to deliver manufacturable tooling solutions.
• Support prototyping and new product introductions with tooling input.
