Job summary

Beehive Industries is seeking an Engineer, Tooling Design Contractor for our Centennial, Colorado facility to lead the design and development of tooling, fixtures, and mechanical support equipment used in turbine engine assembly and production.

The role partners with engineering, manufacturing, and operations to translate complex requirements into producible tooling solutions, driving improvements in efficiency, quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience in tooling/fixtures or related equipment.
• Experience with 3D CAD models, drawings, and released documentation.
• Experience performing dimensional and tolerance stack-up analyses.
• Experience with large/complex assemblies and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
• Knowledge of GD&T and ASME Y14 standards.

Responsibilities

• Design assembly tooling, fixtures, and mechanical support equipment for development and production engine build processes.
• Own tooling designs from concept through detailed design, release, fabrication, and implementation.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to troubleshoot build issues and improve process capability, ergonomics, quality, and repeatability.
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, tolerance analyses, and supporting docs.
• Perform tolerance stack-up analyses to ensure interfaces with engine hardware and assembly requirements.
• Apply GD&T and ASME Y14 standards to designs and drawings.
• Ensure tooling documentation is released and maintained under configuration management.
• Lead design reviews and incorporate feedback from multiple disciplines.
• Evaluate concepts for manufacturability, structural adequacy, cost, and usability.
• Provide technical support during tooling fabrication, inspection, and implementation.
• Manage multiple projects to meet schedules and manufacturing needs.
