Job summary

Epic Aircraft, located in Bend, Oregon, seeks a Tooling/CNC Operator to set up and run CNC machines, test new fixtures and programs, and fabricate composite tooling. You will handle a range of materials and tooling, reading plans and blueprints to ensure high-precision parts production in a fast-paced aerospace shop.

The role requires experience with CNC machines and G Code, strong math and measurement skills, and the ability to work independently or in a team.

Qualifications

• Experience running CNC machines.
• Experience reading and understanding G Code.
• Able to maintain quality and safety standards, record keeping, and maintain equipment and supplies.
• Effective verbal, written, and mathematical skills are required.
• Must be able to read, evaluate, and respond to product specifications, blueprints, and drawings, and perform normal math calculations easily.
• Proficient and comfortable using a variety of hand and power tools.
• Eye for detail and take pride in high-quality work.
• Must work well independently and in a team with a great attitude.
• Open to new ideas, challenges, and learning opportunities.
• Self-motivated, dependable, and organized.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC equipment to prove out programs and machining concepts.
• Assist in troubleshooting new programs/fixtures.
• Configure tools and ensure efficient production.
• Use dimensional measurement tools.
• Lay-up composite materials.
• Vacuum bag and consolidate materials.
• Read blueprints, templates, process sheets, and other authorized documents.
• Develop shop aids to facilitate the fabrication of composite parts.
• Perform repairs.
• Maintain electronic and paper records as required.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Assist other operators.
• Other duties as assigned or required.

What You'll Do

As a Tooling/CNC Operator, you'll be a key member team of our team and will help test new fixtures and programs to produce machined parts by setting up and operating a CNC machine. Additionally, the technician will fabricate, assemble, and repair various types of composite mold tooling. Will also work with a variety of composite materials, hand tools, and power tools such as grinders, saws, and sanders.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

Helpful But Not Required

• Troubleshooting CNC machines
• CNC Tool Selection Optimization
• Knowledge in assembly, machining, ability to read and understand drawings, quality control, and safety
• Familiarity with cutting a wide range of materials is helpful
• Fagor controller experience
• Experience working with fiber composites

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and move throughout the facility for the majority of the shift
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail
• Ability to lift materials and equipment as required

Compensation And Schedule

Monday Friday 7:30 a.m. 4:00 p.m.

Starting Pay: $25.00/hour DOE
