Job summary

Epic Aircraft in Bend, Oregon seeks a Liaison Engineer I/II to develop engineering solutions for nonconforming parts and aircraft systems. You will collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality Control, and other engineering disciplines to address issues and support safe production and operation of the aircraft.

Responsibilities include formulating repairs, serving on MRB, interpreting drawings, and driving ECN-based improvements across gear, structures, and systems.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (aerospace, mechanical, or related).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to follow processes and guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate structural repairs and static strength analyses for nonconforming parts.
  • Serve on MRB to decide disposition of nonconforming parts and assemblies.
  • Interpret drawings to improve manufacturability via ECNs.
  • Collaborate with Quality Control, Manufacturing, and other engineering teams to resolve production problems.
  • Provide engineering support for product and process improvements.
  • Research technical, operational, and quality issues for final engineering solutions.
  • Support Epic Flight Support fleet aircraft repairs and analyses.
  • Engage in project work across Manufacturing, Structures, and Flight Test domains.
  • Develop familiarity with FARs and regulatory processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a member of the Engineering team, the Liaison Engineer I/II develops engineering solutions to address nonconforming parts, assemblies, and aircraft systems, including the correction of manufacturing and design issues identified during production. This role works closely with Manufacturing, Quality Control, and other Engineering disciplines to evaluate issues, determine appropriate corrective actions, and support the safe, efficient production and continued operation of the aircraft.

Repair solutions and corrective actions may involve composite structures, interiors, payloads, electrical systems, functional testing, finishes, aerodynamics, electromagnetic environment, damage tolerance, fatigue, static strength, propulsion, safety, and other aircraft systems.

Responsibilities
  • Formulate structural repairs and/or conduct static strength analysis to determine nonconforming production part usage criteria
  • Serve as a member of the Material Review Board (MRB) to determine the disposition of nonconforming parts and assemblies
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to improve the manufacturability and serviceability of products through Engineering Change Notices (ECNs)
  • Work with Quality Control, Manufacturing, and other Engineering departments to resolve engineering-related production problems
  • Provide Engineering support to Quality Control and Manufacturing to develop and implement product/process improvements
  • Work with Quality Control, Manufacturing, and other Engineering departments to research technical, operational, and quality issues in support of executing final engineering solutions
  • Formulate structural repairs and/or conduct static strength analysis for Epic Flight Support fleet Aircraft
  • Conduct in-depth project work in Manufacturing, Mechanical Design, Structures, and Flight Test-related engineering fields
  • Develop experience in Federal Aviation Regulations and regulatory processes
  • Other duties as assigned or required
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
Required
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, such as aerospace, materials, mechanical, or a closely related discipline
  • Understanding of basic engineering principles, including statics, dynamics, strength of materials, and fluid mechanics
  • Ability to follow prescribed processes, specifications, and guidelines
  • Strong mechanical design aptitude
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with computer-aided design (CAD) tools
  • Excellent analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional team with a positive attitude and professional presence
  • Flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities and requirements
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
Desirable
  • Experience with aircraft structures, aerospace manufacturing, or aviation engineering
  • Familiarity with composite materials, structural analysis, or aircraft repair methods
  • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) or other engineering analysis tools
  • Familiarity with Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), FAA requirements, or aircraft certification processes
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, quality, MRB, or production‑support engineering environment
COMPENSATION AND SCHEDULE

Monday – Friday
7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Salary Range: Competitive DOE
