Job summary

The Pivot Group Network in Rockford, MI is seeking a Tool Room Supervisor with strong leadership and hands-on tooling expertise to join our manufacturing network.

You will supervise tool room personnel, oversee calibration and maintenance of tooling and precision measuring equipment, manage tooling inventory, and coordinate with production and engineering to design and procure new tooling. This role requires 5+ years in a tool room and at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in a tool room environment with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Proven expertise in precision machining, grinding, EDM, and CNC programming.
• Strong understanding of tooling design, fabrication, repair, and maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to train, mentor, and motivate a team.
• Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and train tool room personnel on safety procedures and equipment operation.
• Oversee the maintenance, repair, and calibration of all tooling and precision measuring equipment.
• Manage inventory of tools, spare parts, and consumables, ensuring optimal stock levels.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for tooling to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with production and engineering departments to design and procure new tooling.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications for all manufactured and repaired tooling.
