Job summary

The Pivot Group Network is partnering with Portage-based manufacturers to hire a Tool Room Supervisor. This role leads tool room teams, oversees maintenance, calibration, inventory, and quality control to ensure tooling consistency and on-time production.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in tool rooms, proven supervision experience, strong blueprint reading, GD&T, and CNC machining knowledge. CAD/CAM software familiarity and Lean expertise are valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a tool room environment.
• Proven experience in supervising and leading a team.
• Strong proficiency in blueprint reading, GD&T, and precision measurement tools.
• Demonstrated expertise in operating and programming CNC machinery (mills, lathes, EDMs).
• Solid understanding of various tooling materials, heat treatment processes, and surface finishes.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software for tool design and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and train tool room personnel on safety procedures and equipment operation.
• Oversee the maintenance, repair, and calibration of all tools, dies, and machinery.
• Manage inventory of spare parts, raw materials, and consumables, ensuring adequate stock levels.
• Implement and enforce quality control procedures for manufactured tools and components.
• Collaborate with production and engineering departments to optimize tool design and performance.
• Develop and maintain preventative maintenance schedules for all tool room equipment.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies within the tool room.
• Analyze tool performance data to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction.
