Job summary

SouthernCarlson in Roanoke, VA is seeking a Service Technician for a Monday–Friday day shift. The role focuses on hands-on troubleshooting, repairing pneumatic and electric power tools, and keeping customer tools running smoothly.

You will document service records, assist customers, and collaborate with the sales team to resolve issues. A high school diploma and mechanical aptitude are required; lifting up to 50 lbs regularly is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience repairing small engines or construction tools is preferred.
• Experience in construction or industrial supply is a plus.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
• Customer-focused with strong communication skills.
• Organized and detail-oriented with multi-tasking ability.
• Basic computer proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and electric power tools such as nail guns and staple guns.
• Provide guidance on proper tool operation and maintenance.
• Process and fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Complete work orders, parts orders, and service records.
• Partner with the sales team to resolve customer issues and ensure satisfaction.
• Deliver professional, friendly customer service during all service interactions.

Job Description

We’re hiring a Service Technician who enjoys hands-on work, troubleshooting equipment, and helping customers keep their tools running efficiently. If you have strong mechanical aptitude and enjoy solving problems while delivering excellent service, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do

• Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and electric power tools including nail guns and staple guns

• Provide customers with guidance on proper tool operation and maintenance

• Complete documentation such as work orders, parts orders, and service records

• Partner with the sales team to resolve customer issues and ensure satisfaction

• Deliver professional, friendly customer service during all service interactions

What We’re Looking For

• Experience repairing small engines, construction tools, or pneumatic/electric power tools preferred
• Previous experience in construction or industrial supply industry is a plus
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
• Customer-focused mindset with strong communication skills
• Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks
• Basic computer proficiency
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally
• High school diploma or equivalent required
