Job summary

Ames Tool Corporation - Vancouver, WA, is seeking a Store Manager to oversee tool rental, merchandise sales, inventory, shipping/receiving, and daily store operations. You will drive revenue growth, ensure safety, manage staff, and uphold company standards in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities include budgeting, inventory planning, employee supervision, customer service excellence, and collaboration with regional leadership to implement improvements and promote Ames products.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Reliable transportation is required.
• Strong customer service, sales, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong operational and financial management skills.
• Experience with inventory control and merchandising.
• Ability to drive sales growth and promote rental and merchandise programs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural documents.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ratios, and percentages.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and solve operational and customer service issues.
• Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications and business systems.
• Ability to work independently and lead a team in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute actions to meet rental revenue, sales, and profitability goals.
• Understand store financial performance and use data to improve results.
• Manage store opening/closing procedures.
• Plan inventory levels based on market demand.
• Merchandise showroom and warehouse to company standards.
• Oversee inventory control, audits, and loss prevention.
• Coordinate shipping/receiving and repairs status.
• Handle cash and reconcile transactions.
• Solicit customer feedback and relay to merchandise team.
• Support testing and feedback on company initiatives.
• Provide excellent customer service and build customer relationships.
• Promote Ames line of tools and rental programs.
• Identify opportunities for business development and improvements.
• Process rentals, sales, and orders using company systems.
• Support accounts receivable as assigned.
• Daily operations: ordering, merchandising, inventory, cash handling, reporting.
