Job summary

Five Star Plastics is looking for a Tool Maker to be the next great addition to our growing toolroom. This role offers a chance to work with high-precision CNC machining and mold construction in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will have experience in CNC machining, programing, blueprint reading, and knowledge of tool room equipment. A related associate degree and Journeyman license are preferred, with strong teamwork and troubleshooting abilities encouraged.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Machine Tooling Techniques or equivalent experience is required.
• Experience or knowledge of injection molds is a plus.
• Journeyman license is highly preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and operate shop equipment.
• Willingness to teach less experienced workers.

Responsibilities

• Drive construction of new molds.
• Maintain and repair current molds.
• Operate shop equipment proficiently.
• Read blueprints and troubleshoot tooling issues.
• Teach less experienced individuals and coordinate with tooling manager/designer.

Responsibilities

• A successful candidate will be a person with experience in high precision CNC machining, and experience with programming.
• This person should be self‑motivated with a sense of urgency, have good troubleshooting skills and mechanical abilities, and can work with minimal direction.
• The candidate will have a working knowledge of general tool room equipment, the ability to read blueprints, and possess good organizational skills.

Requirements

• An associate's degree in the Machine Tooling Techniques program or equivalent experience required. Experience or knowledge of injection molds are also a benefit.
• A candidate with their Journey Workers License will really stand above.
• A person in this role is responsible for driving the construction of new molds, alongside the maintenance and repairs of current molds.
• Essential duties also include operating shop equipment proficiently, teaching less experienced individuals, and addressing potential problems with the tooling manager or tool designer.
• 7am-3:30pm M-F or 12pm - 10:30pm M-Th
