Job summary

American Construction Metals (ACM) seeks an experienced Tool and Die Maker to join our Beloit manufacturing team. You will design and create jigs, fixtures, tools and dies, install equipment, and ensure machines meet quality standards.

You will operate lathes, presses, milling machines and grinders, troubleshoot breakdowns, and develop new tools with cross-functional teams. Strong math, blueprint interpretation, and multitasking are essential.

Job description

American Construction Metals (ACM), a strategic business unit of ABC Supply, produces a wide array of metal building materials including trim coil, edge metal, gutter systems and a variety of other metal accessories. In this role, you will work with a team of maintenance mechanics, manufacturing engineers and sales team to collect and implement ideas around products and/or manufacturing methods. You will use these ideas to design/create new jigs, fixtures, tools and dies.Specific duties may include:Installing new equipment, machines and supporting equipment as neededEnsuring that all machines are capable in meeting product quality standards and that machine set up is meeting those standardsDeveloping tools, dies, jigs and fixturesOperating lathes, presses, milling machines and grinders to cut and shape toolsTroubleshooting and identifying machine breakdownsOther duties as assignedSpecific qualifications include:Two year technical degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is requiredPrevious experience with machine design and development in a metal forming environmentExperience with various types of manufacturing equipment including but not limited to CNC Brakes, Metal Forming, Slitters, Shears, Punch Presses, Re-Coilers and De-CoilersStrong mathematical skills and ability to multi taskTroubleshooting and problem solving skillsAbility to read and interpret blueprints and schematicsPhysical Demand:Associate must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted and up to 100 lbs. with assistance.Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crouch, reach, and lift for a full 8-hour day.Work Environment:100% manufacturing settingAssociate must comply with assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirement in varies areas, including but not limited to, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and safety shoes.Associate will have exposure to typical working conditions within the manufacturing environment, including but not limited to, seasonal temperature changes, occasional exposure to exhaust fumes, dirt, dust, debris, and grease, moving forklift equipment, and pinch points on machinery.Associate must comply with assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirement in varies areas, including but not limited to, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and safety shoes.Associate will have exposure to typical working conditions within the manufacturing environment, including but not limited to, seasonal temperature changes, occasional exposure to exhaust fumes, dirt, dust, debris, and grease, moving forklift equipment, and pinch points on machinery.Benefits may include:Health, dental, and vision coverageEmployer paid life insurance401(k) with generous company matchFlex spendingPaid time offPaid holidaysEqual Opportunity Employer / Drug Free Workplace
