Job summary

American Construction Metals (ACM), a strategic business unit of ABC Supply, seeks an experienced Tool and Die Maker to join its manufacturing team. You will collaborate with maintenance mechanics, manufacturing engineers and the sales group to collect and implement ideas for tools, dies, jigs and fixtures.

Responsibilities include installing new equipment, ensuring machine setups meet quality standards, developing tools and fixtures, operating lathes, presses, milling machines and grinders, and

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in machine design and development in a metal forming environment.
• Experience with CNC brakes, metal forming, slitters, shears, punch presses, re-coilers and de-coilers.
• Strong mathematical skills and ability to multi task.
• Troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Installing new equipment, machines and supporting equipment as needed
• Ensuring that all machines are capable in meeting product quality standards and that machine set up is meeting those standards
• Developing tools, dies, jigs and fixtures
• Operating lathes, presses, milling machines and grinders to cut and shape tools
• Troubleshooting and identifying machine breakdowns
• Other duties as assigned
