Job summary

100Hires, Inc. in CT seeks a Tool & Diemaker to maintain and implement tooling systems that support production schedules and continuous improvement in quality, cost and lead times.

You will fabricate tools, fixtures and gauges, train apprentices, document tool histories, and collaborate with senior diemakers on new tooling launches. Relocation or 6+ month assignments are encouraged with housing and travel support.

Qualifications

  • Minimum journeyman certificate or 5 yrs. equivalent.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and GD&T.
  • Must safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, overhead cranes.
  • Experience with progressive stamping.
  • Familiar with ISO quality standards and SPC in production.
  • Experience in Medical and Aerospace environments (ISO13485 & AS9100).
  • Understanding of Lean manufacturing components (Kaizen, Kanban, SMED, 5S).
  • Knowledge of concurrent engineering and DFMA.
  • Experience with production standards and cost of quality.

Responsibilities

  • Service production tools in the press and perform pre-run maintenance.
  • Fabricate tools, fixtures and gauges as directed.
  • Assist in training of apprentices.
  • Document Tool History and Set-up information.
  • Alert Supervisor when machine/tool maintenance is needed.
  • Collaborate on new tooling introductions into production areas.
  • Assist in standardizing Tooling Inventory.
  • Support Lean projects and tool-set up issues.
  • Assist production setup associates in solving tooling problems.

Equivalent.Assist in Component / Tooling Fabrication, Troubleshooting Tooling and Repairing Tooling.
