Job summary

CTSpring is seeking a Full Time 6 - Craft Worker in Connecticut. Position requires relocation to CT and offers travel/housing/meal stipends as well as a $10,000 sign-on.

You will set up and maintain tooling, design and repair dies, and work with engineering to resolve tooling issues while maintaining quality and production schedules. Responsibilities include operating machine tools, performing tests, and ensuring parts meet specifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience in Component/Tooling Fabrication, Trouble Shooting Tooling and Repairing Tooling.
• CT approved (apprenticeship completed) journeyperson.
• Ability to read - understand blue prints and GDT as needed for production manufacturing.
• Must be able to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, bendies, overhead cranes, etc.
• Working knowledge and practical experience with the use of statistical process control in production environments.
• Progressive stamping background required.
• Familiar with ISO quality standards and lean manufacturing concepts.

Responsibilities

• Ensure functionality and quality, conduct test runs and inspections to ensure tools function correctly and produce parts of the required quality.
• Troubleshoot and optimize designs: Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve die-related issues and improve design for manufacturability.
• Use machine tools to manufacture tools, dies and machine parts.
• Measure finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Fit and assembly parts to make, repair or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools using machine tools and hands tools.

Primary Position Objectives

To effectively support operations by maintaining and implementing systems and programs with regard to tooling and machine maintenance to support production schedules, continuous improvements to the quality, cost, and lead-time of goods and services provided to the customers of CSS.

Position Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Set-up & Maintenance of Tooling including but not limited to First piece quality submission.

• Alert Supervisor when there is a need for – Machine Maintenance & Tool Maintenance on Production tooling.
• Assists as required department set up associates solving problems and issues with tool set up and tool production running.
• Assists company Managers as requested on all Metal Stamping and Four slide projects
• Alerts Supervisor on updates and corrections needed on job travelers for operation changes/additions.

Department Goals

• Meet quoted/job estimate for Service-Set-up and Production Rate on all tooling.

Other

• Maintains adherence to company policies, environmental and safety standards as well as good housekeeping standards
• Assists in development & implementation of Lean Projects.
• May be required to assist or otherwise instruct other personnel.
• Performs other duties as may be required.

Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum 5 years experience in Component/Tooling Fabrication, Trouble Shooting Tooling and Repairing Tooling. Set-up – Trouble shooting of Production Stamping Equipment 60T-330T in an Automatic Power Press Production Department.
• CT approved (apprenticeship completed) journeyperson.
• Ability to read - understand blue prints and GDT as needed for production manufacturing.
• Must be able to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, "bendies, overhead cranes, etc. in order to lift, move and manipulate tools and loads.
• Working knowledge and practical experience with the use of statistical process control in production environments. Progressive stamping background required
• Working knowledge of ISO quality standards and practical experience with the use of statistical process control in a production environment.
• Familiar with Medical and Aerospace (ISO13485 & AS9100) working environments.
• An understanding of Manufacturing Engineering - Quality Engineering - Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and its components (i.e. Kaizen, Kanban, SMED, 5S, etc.)
• Familiar with principles of concurrent engineering and design for manufacturing and assembly.
• Experience with production standards, cost of quality and manufacturing methods.
• Self starter with strong work ethic / production oriented.

Physical Requirements

• Visual ability (corrected) to read directions and prints and to inspect parts closely to ensure that they meet specifications.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to operate machinery for precision work.
• Physical ability to do work requiring frequent stooping and bending.
• Ability to lift up to 35lbs unassisted
